Catholic Roots of the USAAs we approach the 250th anniversary of our country, this course explores the Catholic theologians and the doctrines that influenced the founding of our nation. Most of our civic classes say that America was founded on Protestant and Enlightenment ideas. Yet most of these ideas were influenced by some of the most respected Catholic theologians of the later Middle Ages.
We will discuss how these ideas evolved and how they remain important today. Catholic principles of subsidiarity, solidarity, charity, justice, and natural law were influential in the development of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.
Dates: Apr 14, 21, 28 and May 12 (DATE CHANGE ON LAST DATE).

About our Program
The Adult Faith Formation Process of Saint Bede Catholic Church recognizes the importance of the catechesis of adults, strives to promote and nourish a mature adult faith that will foster true discipleship. Parishioners are invited to encounter Jesus and grow in the fullness of their Catholic faith through a comprehensive catechetical and spiritual formation process. We also strive to foster a growing Adult Ministry program to encourage retreat opportunities and fellowship events. Check here often for additional program offerings!
